Inside the GDSL Summer Showcase Series: Why Las Vegas Could Be a Turning Point for Undiscovered Hoopers

Every July, Las Vegas becomes one of the biggest basketball stages in the country as they play host to NBA Summer League.

This year, the Golden Desert Super League is creating space for its players to be part of it.

The GDSL will host its First Annual GDSL Summer Showcase Series on July 17–18 at Atlas Hoops in Las Vegas during NBA Summer League weekend. The two-day event is designed for players looking for real exposure, high-level competition, professional visibility and meaningful basketball opportunities.

The showcase is part of the GDSL’s larger player-first vision as the new professional basketball league prepares for its inaugural 2027 season.

“We’re creating something players can actually benefit from,” said Troy Jackson Jr., Commissioner of the GDSL. “This showcase is about putting serious players in the right environment, giving them professional tools, and helping them move forward.”

Built around competition, culture and access, the GDSL Summer Showcase Series will give athletes the chance to compete, be professionally filmed, receive highlight content, gain GDSL media coverage and connect with coaches and league decision-makers.

The event will feature two participation options: the Showcase Package and the All Access Package, with additional media opportunities and official showcase uniforms available through the All Access tier.

For the GDSL, Las Vegas was a perfect fit where basketball culture, opportunity and ambition meet.
